Policy Committee Member Application

The Geothermal Rising Policy Council (GRPC) formerly known as The Geothermal Rising Policy Committee; is an add-on option for Geothermal Rising (GR) Organization Members who want to engage with policymaking at the federal, state, tribal, and local levels. The GRPC advocates for public policies that will promote the research, development, deployment, and utilization of geothermal resources and provides a forum for the industry to discuss issues and solve problems.

GRPC is led by a chairperson and governed by the Board Level members, the Geothermal Rising President, and Geothermal Rising Executive Director. There are subcommittees focused on specific policy topics. The subcommittees include: Appropriations, Tax, Permitting, Regulatory, State Policy, and Innovation.

Observer Level $10,500 - Benefits being an Observer Level member: Inclusion on the GR Policy Committee mailing list to be kept appraised of GR advocacy and policy activities Invitation to participate in monthly GRPC meetings Opportunity to provide internal comments and proposed revisions to GR documents. Participate in chair subcommittees Designate three (3) people to represent your organization at the GR Policy Committee Observation Level Participate in conferences/events GR arranges such as policy workshops or meetings with government officials, think tanks, media, and other stakeholders NEW benefit for 2025 - Orientation and Introductory Policy training online that your team can attend. Not able to vote on the release of external facing materials Observer level support does not mean endorsement of GR Policy activities or published documents. Board Level $21,000 - Benefits of being a Board level member: Inclusion on the GR Policy Committee mailing list to be kept appraised of GR advocacy and policy activities Invitation to participate in monthly GR Policy Committee meetings Guide annual vision objectives Participate in subcommittees Designate five (5) people to represent your organization at the GR Policy Committee Board Level, however, your organization may only receive one vote on publication of advocacy and policy documents and setting up annual vision goals and objectives Propose, draft, and/or edit GR policy documents Vote on policy documents released by GR Guide, draft, and vote on annual vision objectives NEW benefit for 2025 - Orientation and Introductory Policy training online for your team or an individual Establish and chair subcommittees Serve as the GR Policy Committee chair Participate in conferences/events GR arranges such as policy workshops or meetings with government officials, think tanks, media, and other stakeholders Board Member level is available only to Clean Energy Sustainer, Geothermal Champion, and Earth Energy Visionary members of Geothermal Rising
