Since late 2023, Teverra has explored Fort Wainwright, Alaska, as part of the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) Geothermal Commercial Solutions Opening. This Geothermal Prototype Initiative included existing data collation, new data collection, and stratigraphic test well planning. In 2023, existing data were collated, in summer 2024, new data were collected and integrated into a 3D geological model, and in 2025, using the completed 3D geologic model, a stratigraphic test well site selection and well design was completed. To our knowledge, this is the first geothermal exploration efforts taking place within the general AOI, and as such, experienced several unexpected challenges. This presentation will give a summary of the work to date,  including showing data collection results and current status of the initiative.
